Sparkly Sleeves: The Primark Coat!

So I've already mentioned my Primark Sparkly Sleeved Coat, here she is.

Ta dah! I really am quite taken with her
(Somebody (ahem) needs to clean their mirror, oops!)

Let's get the obvious out of the way first . . ! I do like a bit of sparkle, remember my h&m vests and the New Look cardi? Sparkle always catches the eye and with this jacket, I love the way the sparkle is seemingly played down but probably has more impact because it is only on the sleeves and when a person catches sight of you in it, they are surprised by the sparkle as they see it out of the corner of their eye and then they have to look again to make sure you really are twinkling since the rest of the jacket is otherwise quite conventional and black.

It is rare that I find a coat, especially as long as this one, that I take to (I did like my Grey trench though) but the silhouette of this coat is just so flattering. It falls straight down on the top half and hangs like any other blazer or trench would but then you hit the waist and this is where is happens. Once you belt up this gorgeous coat, you are nipped in at the middle and walking tall as your coat flares out at the bottom (pelmet style) almost in to a little skirt. This extra design detail really softens the colour and the look of the coat, a black coat suddenly becomes so pretty and feminine and I've got to say I do like the contrast of this design detail with the more masculine shoulder lapels that this jacket also possesses.

My jacket reminds me a little of the Prodiga Jackets I was swooning over last year (in the picture above) but yes, my Primark number is actually a whole lot more affordable. I think it was about £33 (Sorry but I can not find a price or link online but have seen the Sparkly Coat in several branches of Primark recently.) and since, I've worn it religiously for two weeks, I'd say I've had more then my moneys' worth. Oh and please note, this jacket is wearing very well for Primark. I have lost none of my little sparkly bead things or any of the big buttons (Another good feature, for doesn't BIG buttons always equal cosy?!) NOR are any of the seams falling apart. Nope, this sparkly coat was a fab buy and is also nice and warm with pockets that you can actually put things in. Amazing!!!

It has got to be said that Primark seem to be pulling a few winners out of the bag this season. Meet Ted, my new hot water bottle from their Home Department.

Now, I have never been a teddy person. Even as a little girl, it was all about pushing the dolls in the prams for me. However, as soon as I saw Ted and his friends in store, I knew I had to ask one of them to come home with me. Who can resist those big, big eyes and  the even bigger smile?! I'm sure, there are worse things to share a bed with!

Do you have a favourite winter coat this season? Have you spotted any more goodies in Primark?

The Prodiga Military Jackets!

Image from the Prodiga website here

So it seems all I post at the moment is wish lists and products I'm swooning over but it's just I like to share with you what catches my eye. I've also been quite busy this week and so longer posts have had to go on the back burner for a few days but I'm hoping to get something else (not a wish list or swoon) up tomorrow today (just noticed the time!).

In the meantime, I thought I would say hello to you all *waves again* and show you yet another winter coat that I really like the look of, this military jacket from Prodiga. It comes in two colours, white and black and both are gorgeous.

Millie Mackintosh from Made In Chelsea is the brand ambassdor for Prodiga and indeed, this is a garment I can imagine her strutting around in. As a military jacket, it seems 'on trend' and probably always will be as military is the one trend that does not seem to be passing. To be honest, I have not always found the military trend that wearable. Sometimes, I fear it bulks my top half up and swamps my bottom half but the peplum detail on this jacket is supposed to balance the silhouette out a bit more making this jacket not only pretty and feminine but also flattering. Flattering, there is an adjective that is not often used to describe a garment that also appears so warm, cosy and functional. These jackets also have crystal embellishment on the wrists which adds that little sparkle I like to see in pieces and just hints at the slightly higher end price tag that this jacket comes with.

Sigh, if only I could afford it!!!

Do you like this jacket? Would you wear it? Do you know of any high street 'dupes' or anything similar? I hope you all have a happy Friday.

The H&M cropped blazer!

Now going back a post or so to that new blazer I mentioned.

The grey one!

I'm not even sure why I took it in to the changing room. Grey is a colour I find hard to carry off. It is a shade that often seems to draw any colour (inc. make up) from my face and makes me look tired.

Not great.

However, call it fate or what you will but for some reason, this little number ended up in my hands and to the changing room we went.

And thank goodness, we did.

Here she is in all her glory.

To be honest, the jacket didn't even look great on the hanger but once on, it came in to its own.

This beauty is cropped so instead of falling at my knees like most regular sized blazers, it falls perfectly just below my hips. The cut is lovely. There is lots of movement and then the front waterfall folds lends quite a 'masculine' item, a softer modern finish.

As for the colour, again, as with the Miu Miu faux, I would say that there is almost a hint of blue in the grey (although maybe I just need an eye test!). This shade, I percieve, reminds me of the the snow and winter mornings. I've also got to say, I think it makes my eyes look a little brighter.

At £19.99, I think this jacket looks a little more expensive then it actually was. You can view/buy the jacket here. They do it in black too. ; )

Underneath the jacket, I'm wearing another H&M item, a sequined vest. The sparkle reminds me a little of the amazing dress that my sister wore for her beautiful wedding. Sorry I can't find a link for this £7.99 H&M vest : (
