Already done: 'The Pretty Perfume' Review!

Well, this post is actually going to be a lot shorter then I intended it to be. You see this post was going to be all about the Beckham perfume, Intimately, the one that I raved about in my recent instagram post.

I was going to dedicate a post right here to this beautiful scent and share with you Girls, just why I love it so.

However, it seems I've already done that ***CLICK HERE TO SEE***.

I stand by everything that I said in this review and my love for this fantastic scent is still well and truly alive. I have been through at least one more, possibly two, bottles since posting last year. I just love this particular scent and can not recommend more that you seek it out and give it a sniff. It is such a pretty perfume and relatively affordable too.

And now, that I've professed to you that it is not because I'm a fan girl that I love the perfume so, I should whisper that regardless I'm still a bit of a fan of Victoria's style (Again, I may have mentioned this in earlier posts . . . ahem . . . here and here) and I am absolutely loving the looser feel to Victoria's hair at the moment, perfect for the sunshine!

I'm on a mission to reconstruct these two seemingly simple (but probably quite intricate) styles this week.

What's your scent of the moment? How are you styling your hair?

A few things lately . . .

I have been loving all the Instagram and picture collage posts that have been floating around recently. So, here is one of my own featuring a few things from my life lately. . .

* Wanted for so long and finally mine, Barry M Flamingo Pink
* A new friend, Vicky. My sister's new guide dog, beautiful and oh so clever!
* The Sunscreen Song. I heard this on the radio the other day for the first time in an age. Am now making a point of trying to listen to it once a day in a bid to become a better person and all that. It is  weird how every day, a different line seems to resonate . . ! Although, 'You are not as fat as you think you are . . !' always seems to call out to me.
* Run, run, running. I've been a bit slack with this lately but after watching one of the latest videos (This one!) from the Lean Machines, I somehow mustered up a little motivation (oh yeah). Check it out if you need a little push to workout today!
* Why do I always look so glum? I was actually quite happy when I took this pic as I took it to prove my hair is getting longer, finally!!!
* The newest addition to my skincare regime, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Expensive but yes, I fear it is doing something and I will have to find the moolah to repurchase again and again. Hmmm, any cheap dupes out there?
* 500 Days of Summer. I'm not so good with films, I always seem to get distracted but I quite liked this one. I'm sure Zooey Deschanel was playing the same character in it as she played in New Girl but hey, she does it fabulously. I also caught The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds this week. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to think of that one but I watched it to the end and it made me laugh out loud. That is pretty good going in my world.
* My two scents of the last month or so. Intimately, Beckham and Lolavie from Jennifer Aniston. Call me a fan girl but I genuinely love both of these. Have been through four or five Beckhams before and this is the second bottle of Lolavie. Hmmm, think they deserve a post of their own . . !
* My new belt from Monsoon. I love the chain detail and the intricate twists at the front.
* Currently trying to read, Water For Elephants but again, I'm struggling to find the mojo to pick the book up. Once I start reading it, I can't put it down but once it's down, I can't seem to sit myself down long enough to pick it up again. Think I may need to try something else and come back to it. I like to read a book overnight, I always feel too distanced from it when I drag the reading of it out!
* Coconut Oil. I actually got two of these from Holland and Barrett as they were part of the penny sale. So many things I could do with them. Body moisturiser, hair treatment and my new favourite use, lip conditioner.
* Back to the running, I think by this point, I was actually limping. Yes, once again, I got lost looking for the car. I think, somebody up there is taking the mick 'cos I take the car to go running instead of just running there or somewhere closer in the first place!
* Made In Chelsea! I am so obsessed with this, I'm not sure I've ever been so in to a tv show. And yes, I'm Team Jamie, aren't we all?!! Loving, Laura's (Lollipop26)  twitter hash tag #wewantbinkyandjamie
* Love, love, love Creme Cup and my clear gloss from Rimmel combo. It is pretty rare that I now wear anything else on my lips.
* And finally back to the nail polish. Been swooning over it for so long so had to get it on quick. These are my clumsily painted nails in Flamingo Pink!

I hope you are all well and having a good weekend. What's rocking your world at the moment?

My July Favourites!

- L'Oreal Volume Million Lash
This mascara has lived up to my initial expectations. It is fantastic. If anything, I like it even more now. I haven't noticed the overpowering scent for a while; the careful light hand approach (which is required) now seems effortless and it still looks very classy in it's gold casing.
You can read my review here http://essjay23x.blogspot.com/2010/07/mascara-mascara.html

- Sable and Satin Taupe
I'm loving Sable eyeshadow at the moment. I know that you might think it quite a dark, heavy colour for the summer but since I've been laying off the foundation, I have needed more striking eye make up. I'm finding that shades closer to my skin tone such as Modellette and All That Glitters just highlight my poor skin and the lack of foundation.
Sable is a way to get striking eyes with the minimal of effort. Colour block it, a slick of mascara and that is my eyes done. I love Satin Taupe but I feel it needs more work (usually with another shadow and liner) to create the same impact.

- Hue
I can never stay away from my first Mac lippie for long. I love Hue. A nice natural, low maintenance lip for the summer. I also like the fact that it is not that red or pink as I'm finding some of my more pink/red lips draw attention to any imperfections or sore skin on my face. You can read more about Hue here http://essjay23x.wordpress.com/2010/01/19/the-first-date-my-mac/

- Lipgloss
I am not the biggest gloss fan but I have worked them a little this month. I'm finding that they have felt increasingly refreshing and moisturising on my lips as the temperature has risen. I have found myself picking up two lipglosses often. One is Underage from Mac ( pictured above). I have always been a bit wary of this gloss as sometimes it looks a bit artificial on my lips and messy like the lipsticks, Barry M 101 and Gosh Darling. However when I use a light hand with Underage, the slight shimmer is much more flattering. You can read about my first impressions of Underage back in January here http://essjay23x.wordpress.com/2010/01/19/the-first-date-my-mac/
Also Kim has done a great review of Underage here http://misskc027.blogspot.com/2010/07/mac-lipglass-comparisons.html.
Gloss-wise, I also like the Jodie Kidd Shell and not just because it was a freebie from a magazine. Shell is very similar to Underage but I prefer the formulation. I find Shell nicer (easier) to apply. I'm always surprised that it looks less pink then Underge in the tube as I think they give a similar finish on the lips with Shell maybe finishing slightly more neatly.

- Dark hair
I have dyed my hair again. Last time I dyed it, I chose Medium Golden Brown. This time, I have gone a shade darker to a Warm Dark Brown and I like it. The Medium Golden Brown was ok but I preferred the colour before it started lifting. So I thought it would be an idea to go one shade darker.

In my dreams, I would love to be a blonde. Oh, how I would! However, I am now starting to face the fact that in reality, I'm always happier when I keep my hair at the dark end of the spectrum. It seems to frame my features better.

- Intimately Beckham
This is an old favourite but I particularly like it in the summer (yes, I do wear it in the day), it is one of those scents that seems to intensify in the heat and linger a while. It is gorgeous and reminds me of carefree days in Ibiza. This perfume never fails to make me smile.

- Eat Love Pray
I have always been a little bit curious about this book. Angela's (http://ohsheglows.com/) recent posts and news of the forthcoming film only heightened this. So when I finally got my hands on Eat Love Pray,  I devoured it in less then a week. It is a brilliant read and very thought provoking. I might go through it again now with a marker. I do like a good quote!

So that was my July favourites. Interestingly, there are not really any new products in there. So that makes me think that either there isn't anything that new and exciting out there at the moment or just maybe I'm getting the hang of this saving thing (yeah, right, after that TopShop haul)! What do you think? Have you any July favourites? Is there anything I'm missing out on?
